20 years of the internet

This summer marks 20 years since I first got a 56K modem, a game changer that opened up the world of the internet for me. Those early days of web development and self-publishing sparked a passion that still drives me today

At some point this summer marked 20 years since the first time I had a 56K modem at my house. Emulator sites were commonplace and irc was the social network of the moment.

It was an incredible summer.

Having access to the internet daily was a transformative experience. Soon after those first days, I discovered Microsoft front page and free hosting offered by internet providers.

I was hooked.

I remember clearly the night I realized I could use tables inside tables to make complex designs, and gradient backgrounds to separate sections.

Those discoveries shaped myself and I felt in love with web development and self publishing.
